Fort Mill’s newest culinary gem, The Speckled Pear, is making a big splash this spring—and not just locally. This year, they’re stepping onto a larger stage as part of the 37th annual Charlotte Wine + Food Week, presented by Truist.

On Wednesday, April 23, Chef Michael Bader, owner and executive chef of The Speckled Pear, will host an unforgettable vintner dinner experience in the heart of downtown Fort Mill. The evening will feature a meticulously curated multi-course meal, each dish thoughtfully paired with wines from Banfi Vintners, one of Italy’s most renowned producers.

It’s a perfect pairing of artful cuisine and elegant wine, all for a good cause—supporting local children’s charities through Charlotte Wine + Food Week. Since its inception in 1989, this beloved week-long event has raised over $7 million for area nonprofits, and this year’s proceeds will benefit A Child’s Place, Augustine Literacy Project, Digi-Bridge, and Wayfinders.

What to Expect:

Guests will be welcomed with passed appetizers and a sparkling Banfi Brut Metodo Tradizionale, before diving into a four-course culinary journey. Highlights include:

  • A delicate Compressed Melon Salad with pea tendrils and frozen olive oil, paired with La Pettegola Vermentino
  • Pappardelle with Black Truffle and Pecorino, accompanied by two of Banfi’s bold Super Tuscans
  • A rich, rustic Braised Wild Boar entrée with creamy herb polenta and a duo of Brunello di Montalcino selections
  • A sweet finish with Burnt Honey Semifreddo, citrus, pistachio, and a glass of Rosa Regale Rosé

Adding depth to the experience, McKenzie Schmitt, District Manager of Banfi Vintners for NC/SC, will be on hand to guide attendees through the wines and share their rich history.

This exclusive dinner is hosted by Charlotte Wine + Food board members Bill Bounds and Paul Miller, and with only a limited number of seats available, it’s expected to sell out quickly. Tickets are $195 per person (including service, with $50 tax-deductible).
