The Town of Fort Mill is thrilled to share the latest development in its efforts to enhance parking options for downtown Fort Mill. Construction on a brand-new municipal parking lot is set to begin during the week of February 3, 2025.
The new parking lot will be located at the corner of Tom Hall Street and Springs Street, the site of the former Hardee’s restaurant. To prepare for construction, the lot will be closed to the public starting January 27, 2025. Perimeter fencing, security measures, and clear signage will be installed to ensure safety around the area.
Construction Timeline and Features
The project is expected to take approximately five months, weather permitting. Once finished, this modern parking facility will add 67 new spaces to downtown Fort Mill, providing a convenient option for visitors and patrons. The lot will also feature enhanced lighting for safety and beautiful landscaping to complement the area’s charm.
Fort Mill Mayor Guynn Savage shared her enthusiasm for the project, stating, “The town continues to push forward with completing our new parking option downtown. Many are using our free parking to access the great restaurants and businesses in our Main Street corridor and we look forward to finishing this project for our community.”
This project underscores Fort Mill’s commitment to fostering a vibrant, accessible downtown area that residents and visitors can enjoy for years to come. Stay tuned for updates as the town works to bring this much-anticipated parking lot to life!
