Fort Mill is gearing up for an unforgettable Independence Day celebration as the town comes together to honor America’s 250th birthday. From live music and patriotic performances to one of the region’s favorite hometown traditions, there’s plenty of family-friendly activities!

Independence Day Celebration at Walter Elisha Park

Friday, July 3 | 6:00–9:30 p.m.
Fort Mill Amphitheater & Walter Elisha Park

Kick off the holiday weekend with an evening of entertainment at Walter Elisha Park. The celebration features live performances, patriotic tributes, a community ceremony, and a spectacular fireworks display to close out the night.

Event Schedule:

  • 6:00–7:00 p.m.The American Bombshells open the evening with a lively patriotic performance.
  • 7:00 p.m.Spirit of America by Sigmon Theatrical brings history to life through a patriotic theatrical presentation.
  • 7:30 p.m. – Independence Day Celebration Ceremony.
  • 8:00 p.m. – The Carolina Troubadours, a George Strait tribute band, take the stage for an evening of country favorites.
  • 9:15 p.m. – The celebration concludes with a fireworks spectacular lighting up the Fort Mill sky!

Bring lawn chairs or blankets and arrive early to find a great spot for an evening of family-friendly fun.

54th Annual Firing of the Cannons

Saturday, July 4 | 10:00- 11:30 a.m.

One of Fort Mill’s most cherished traditions returns on Independence Day morning with the 54th Annual Firing of the Cannons.

The ceremony begins with patriotic music, a reading of the Declaration of Independence, and a musket firing before the event’s signature moment—the firing of the historic cannons. The cannon salute is led by the Short family, who are celebrating their 51st year participating in this beloved community tradition.

The annual event has become a hallmark of Independence Day in Fort Mill, drawing generations of residents and visitors to Main Street to celebrate the nation’s founding while honoring the town’s rich history.

Whether you’re watching fireworks on Friday evening or experiencing the booming cannon firing on Saturday morning, Fort Mill offers memorable ways to celebrate July 4th with family and friends!
