The Town of Fort Mill invites the community to gather in remembrance and gratitude during its annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 25, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Unity Cemetery.
Held each year to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the United States Armed Forces, the ceremony serves as a meaningful opportunity for residents to come together and reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day.
The program will feature remarks from Guynn Savage, as well as the Reading of the Names of the Fallen presented by Fort Mill Town Council members. Additional tributes throughout the ceremony will include a special reading by the 2026 South Carolina Strawberry Festival Queens, the Posting and Retirement of Colors by Scout Troop 219, and the Laying of the Wreath and Rifle Volley by American Legion Post 43 and the Ladies Auxiliary.
There will also be patriotic musical performances, including the National Anthem and special music by Anna Davis, and attendees can enjoy complimentary lemonade by Anchors Aweigh Lemonade
Those interested in honoring a fallen service member during the ceremony are asked to submit the individual’s name, rank, and branch of service to jhester@fortmillsc.gov by Wednesday, May 20.
The ceremony is free and open to the public. Parking will be available at the Fort Mill Utilities Department, located at 131 E. Elliott Street near the cemetery.
